​We have done the work for you - when you walk into Blue Market AK, you can rest assured that we have curated our products from eco-friendly vendors - we consider the following during our selection process:​​

AK Local /Sustainable Shipping:  We strive to carry at least 45% locally made products, and seek to reuse shipping containers whenever possible.  For those products that we order from out of state, we look for practices like using barges instead of planes in order to reduce the carbon emissions used to get the products to us, and minimal use of eco-friendly fillers.​ We have been impressed with vendors' willingness to package differently for us - we have learned it never hurts to ask!

Sustainable Packaging:  Products are not packaged in single-use plastics, and whenever possible we receive our products unpackaged.

Eco-Friendly Production: We rate the ingredients and materials used and the manufacturing processes for eco-friendly practices.

Community-Mindedness/ Giving Back:  We love it when our vendors give back - to causes that are eco-friendly and to their local community.

Humanitarian Practices:  We look for vendors who practice fair treatment of their employees and/or seek materials from fair trade locations.​​
